Takeuchi Introduces Its Brand New TL8R2 CTL

At this year’s CONEXPO-CON/AGG, Takeuchi introduced the brand new TL8R2 compact track loader (CTL).  This new machine is a versatile, well-balanced machine and excels in a wide variety of applications.

TL8R2 Specs:

  • Operating weight: 8,807 pounds (Canopy)

  • Bucket breakout force: 6,204 pounds

  • Rated operating capacity: 2,116 pounds

  • Engine performance: 74.3 hp & 192 ft-lb of torque

The cab:

The TL8R2 features a fully redesigned operator’s station with a redesigned overhead door, 5.7” multifunction color monitor, 6-way adjustable high-back suspension seat, flat floor with well-placed foot rests, and both foot and hand throttle control. Full pilot controls are low effort and precise, which reduces operator fatigue and increases productivity.

Visibility in this machine is outstanding thanks to the sloped rear deck, standard rear-view camera, lowered front crossmember, and a large rear window, which also serves as an egress point in case of an emergency. Visibility at night is also greatly improved with standard-equipped front and rear LED work lights with Auto-Lamp Delay.

Tilting the cab up provides access to the hydraulic components, exhaust aftertreatment system, front half of the engine and the hydraulic pumps for easy inspection, cleaning, and maintenance.

The front:

The TL8R2 features a heavy-duty purpose-built frame engineered with heavy gauge steel for superior strength and rigidity. The undercarriage is fully welded to the frame and our quiet-ride track system greatly improves ride quality.

The radial lift boom design has excellent bucket and lift arm breakout force and greater mid-height reach compared to a vertical lift design. This makes the machine perfect for landscaping and grading applications.

Cab models come standard with a hydraulic quick attach that is operated from the comfort of the cab making attachment changes very easy.

The TL8R2 comes standard with a proportional hydraulic auxiliary circuit and a 14-pin electrical connection for operating a number of attachments such as grapples, brooms, brush cutters, and more. The auxiliary circuit consists of ½” flat face pressure relieving coupler blocks and a case drain.   Maximum auxiliary flow on the TL8R2 is 19.1 gallons per minute (gpm) at 3,045 psi or 33.8 gpm with the optional High-Flow package. This allows the unit to be a very capable attachment platform.

The rear:

For excellent protection and easy serviceability, the TL8R2 is equipped with a large wide-opening heavy-duty steel door. This heavy-duty steel door is lockable to prevent unauthorized access to the engine components. You will also notice the rear-view camera is securely mounted and well-protected on this door as well.

With the rear door open, you have access to the heavy-duty side-by-side cooling module, which swings out for easier inspection and cleaning. Daily inspection points are easily accessed in the rear of the machine. Access to the high-capacity steel hydraulic tank and filter are through the left rear tower, which also provides a high level of protection.

Undercarriage:

Our open frame undercarriage with multiple integrated crossmembers is manufactured for greater strength and easier cleanout. The undercarriage components are model specific with larger bearings, which results in slower shaft speeds and longer component life.

Double and triple flange track rollers maintain multiple contact points between the track and rollers limiting the risk of de-tracking. Permanently sealed rollers keep out dirt and other contaminants. Double reduction planetary drives offer exceptional traction force in the most demanding conditions.

Takeuchi Fleet Management (TFM):

Takeuchi Fleet Management (TFM) telematics system comes standard on the TL8R2 and free access is provided during the 2-year standard warranty period with additional service available to purchase. TFM provides an abundance of information, such as machine health and condition, run time (hours), and machine location. TFM reduces downtime and controls costs by providing remote diagnostics and scheduled maintenance as well as customizable alert settings. Another key feature of TFM is the ability to geofence your machine. This feature provides a significant sense of security when needing to protect your investment.
