WesTrac supports a new investment in the Pilbara, near the town of Newman

WesTrac has been contracted to provide technology installation, commissioning and any necessary maintenance work to support BHP’s introduction of autonomous trucks at its Newman East (Eastern Ridge) mine this year.

Newman, a town in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

“We are proud of our long-standing relationship with BHP and it’s exciting to see this continue with further expansion of AHS, an area where we’re seeing technology’s positive impact on the communities in which we operate,” said Jarvas Croome, WesTrac Chief Executive Officer.

WesTrac recently announced the opening of the Collie Autonomous Training Facility that will further support customers across Western Australia, with the upskilling of workforces to effectively deploy and maintain this technology.

“BHP’s commitment to supporting diverse regional economies reinforces our investment in the Autonomous Training Facility at Collie, where many future recruits will receive the training and development needed to join this skilled workforce.”

WesTrac will support new autonomous investment in the Pilbara, providing autonomous kits, parts, and services near the town of Newman.
